I don't have ANY idea where you could go 200 MPH, except in an airplane, and the German Autobahn doesn't go to too many cities.

I don't know... looks like a hoax to me. Two of the proposed routes go through Communist China. I lived in China for several months. It's not the kind of place you'd want to race though in a super car.

It's the Nigerian Rally! They'll send the money for you to pre-register, then you forward back the remaining funds over the cost of registration. Plus you must ship your car over prior to the rally for inspection. Bye, Bye car and bye, bye money.

Insider fix, you get caught going 200+, your car is confiscated by "local" authorities, then they chop or sell your car on the black market.

This looks like it's heavily sponsored by Kim Schmitz of previous Gumball fame. I have heard that he was unhappy with last year's Gumball (he won it) as it was letting in too many boring cars (such as 360 Modenas and 911s). So this makes perfect sense, and I bet you it's legit.

Not all of the routes go through China, so whether China does or doesn't have paved roads built well enough for 200 mph means very little as to whether the event is real or not. I doubt anyone of us here is going to really know if it is real or not until the event is history (one way or the other). It's not the sort of event that can be "announced" or allowed to become public knowledge, for obvious reasons.
