Damn Timing Chain

About a month ago I took the head off my car and now I am putting another one back on. The night I took it off, I forgot to put the engine at TC, so I did it today. I am so stupid  When I turned the crank (my friend held the chain so it would not fall in) the chain did not move because it fell below the teeth on the crank. Now the bright timing link is in the wrong place at TC.

Is there an easy fix??? Please say yes!

Yes, there is an easy fix. You need to remove the front timing cover. Reset the crank to #1 TDC and the cam to #1 TDC on the compression stroke. Properly install the chain and chain tensioner and your done! Easy as pie.

Remember I warned you. Read the manual twice I said. Now you will join the rest of us that learned the hard way. Oh, and if you mess it up you will take a chance at bending a valve.

Ed, Could you explan a little more. Do I have to remove the front cover?

Yes, you need to remove the front cover. The reason you need to remove the front cover is that the timing chain tensioner has already popped out of place since you let the chain go.
