I have a just bought a 240z (71) with a 260 engine. when letting out the clutch there is a 'clonk' sound so i gathered its either the u,v joints or diff mount rubbers, or even moustach bar mounts, am i on the right tracks? I am trying to replace the u.v joints right now but they are giving me ahard time, does any one have any reccomendations?

My suggestion is to start with examinig the easiest parts to replace (and the most likely to cause the problem) in this case, that would be the Front Diff mount, then the U-Joints, then the Moustache Bar bushings.

Examine parts first, then replace. No use throwing parts at a problem, find the cause, then replace.
