Installed new plugs and wires! car ideling LOW and not running right!

I dont know what to do, I check the gaps on the B6ES plugs from the box and they were all .039 and thats what I thought they were supposed to be(read a reference) and I also got the NE61 wires, now my car wont run right at all, what am I supposed to do? It idles at 500 and backfires and sputters

I had the wires hooked up wrong the first time (due to the book I used as a reference) but I used Blue's order and it now starts but runs like complete crap

fireing orer 1 ,5 ,3, 6 ,2 ,4 If this is how you have them connected then there must be a connecter not making contact . That is if the plugwires are the trouble. Is this on a 280 engine after '77 ? Otherwise the gap is too wide.

Pull the plugs out & re-gap them to 43 also use anti-sieze on the threads before you install plugs , sometimes you have to fiddle around with plugs on the Z , reference books are"nt always correct. If 43 is worse then gap at 41 trial & error. Note: you may also have to go with a hotter plug depending on condition of your engine, also check your timing. Umm you said your using BP6E plugs uhm!! I used those in my 70z L24 gap 35. My 72-73z"s use BP6ES gap 35. my 83 turbo uses BPR6ES-Y-11 V grooves. The plugs for your 77Z use BP6ES-11 . I finally got it! I got the firing order down, the ones I used as a reference were incorrect, I relocated two wires and now my engine fires and starts right up, idles and runs lbetter than ever! B6ES-11 traditional plugs, and NE61 Premium wires, all NGK, all works great and smooth, thanks for the help guys

Yes, the B6ES-11 is correct for the EFI cars. The BP6ES (P is for projected tip) is for the carb cars according to everything I've ever read.
