December 21, 200420 yr comment_105815 How do you mean shakes?I had a car once that every time i drove slowly (like stoppina/ starting from traffic lights) it felt like the road was really bumpy, like the back end of the car wobbled. Turns out that one of the tyres was faulty. Had a lump in it. So start with the tyres, then jack the back up and have a look around. Nothing should be loose. December 21, 200420 yr Author comment_105820 When i engage on the gas and let the clutch up It will shake from side to side then it will go away. I have to put just enough gas and clutch for it not to happen. Im not tearing down the street this will is at normal driving. Im going to lift the car look at all the bolts and back tires then drive it. I will come back with the results. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14398-car-shakes/#findComment-105820 Share on other sites
December 21, 200420 yr comment_105821 Could be a warped flywheel. As you attempt to engage the clutch there are high spots that grab first and then let go. Once the clutch is fully engaged the problem goes away. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14398-car-shakes/#findComment-105821 Share on other sites
December 21, 200420 yr comment_105822 Thatis what I was thinking, clutch issues. A Flywheel &/or Pressure Plate that has been overheated (in the past) can cause the clutch to "shudder" as you release the pedal also Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14398-car-shakes/#findComment-105822 Share on other sites
December 21, 200420 yr Author comment_105829 I had the car inspected by mechanic who knows about z. He was explaining to me that it was a combination of things. First being the tire pressure was too low and needs to be replace but no real hurry. The second thing was the driveshaft needs rebuilt or replace. No real hurry there either. He tighten up the bolts and added more air. So far so good it runs fine. The clutch and tranny was fine. I seen where bad clutches make the car shake real bad.To bambi killer i was at your city yesterday filling up gas in my car. I should had you inspected the car...just messin...I was in the bay area to pick up the 71z to take it home to LA. the 580 to the 5 home. The car ran and runs great no problems at all but real long trip.
