December 24, 200420 yr comment_106165 Are you talking about the short wireing harness that goes from the plugs by the right tail light down to the pump and fuel sending unit? December 25, 200420 yr comment_106182 the harness i'm looking for is under the right side passenger dash.If this is an answer then congratulations. On the other hand, ALL of the car's wiring harnesses meet under the dash on the passenger side of the car.The two that comprise the Dash Harness, one to the back half of the car, one to the engine compartment. Now if you wish to be picky, there is also the wiring harness that connects the heater motor to it's controls.. AFAIK, the feed wires to the electric pump are part of the wiring bundle going to the back of the car up and through the rear fender plenum to the tail-lights where a very skinny section creeps under the car through a grommet in the rear floor and has the gas tank leads, the ground wire for the rear and your two wires for the fuel pump. So, WHICH harness are you looking for?Does this differ from what anyone else knows?Enrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14436-help-fuel-pump-wiring-harness/#findComment-106182 Share on other sites
December 25, 200420 yr comment_106184 I think you have covered it, Enrique. Maybe he's referring to the connections to the fuel pump relay on the passenger kick panel? (there is one there, isn't there?) I'm guessing here, but that is what I took him to be asking about. December 25, 200420 yr Author comment_106189 bambikiller is right. i am looking for the one that has the relay on it. i need to know which connections go where. i started on this a few months back, but didn't get anywhere. i haven't been able to find a good diagram on this area. my zcar microfiche doesn't give a good view of it. i stripped the inside of my car to do a floorpan restoration. i also took the dash loose to fix the firewall. December 25, 200420 yr comment_106190 I'll see what I can find. Unfortunately my 71 doesn't have a fuel pump, and haven't done much with the 72 to be able to give good info.My car only has two relays and one other item (looks like a big capacitor) on the passenger kickpanel.Anyone else have a fuel pump car?Enrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14436-help-fuel-pump-wiring-harness/#findComment-106190 Share on other sites
December 25, 200420 yr comment_106197 I have my 73 harnesses sitting in a box with little tags describing where things go. If Santa didn't bring me too many goodies :classic: then I'll pull the harness and snap a few pictures. If I understand correctly you need help with the harness where all the relay's are. December 25, 200420 yr comment_106199 nahurry just recently put a Facet elec fuel pump on my 73. There are two relays on the passenger kick panel. I traced the hot wire and ground from the factory location to the relays ,also traced the 20amp pigtail fuse at the fuse location ,I hooked those two wires together to bypass the relays since I dont have mech. f/p anymore. all the connections in that area are in harness connectors, are you wanting to know which connectors go where? Arent they all different or polarized? d*** Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14436-help-fuel-pump-wiring-harness/#findComment-106199 Share on other sites
