car shipping in North America

Has anyone had any experience with shipping of a car, Z or otherwise?

If so...

What company did you use?

Would you use them again?

How far and How much?

Anything you would have done differently or anything someone should check on prior to choosing a carrier?

I have quotes ranging from $750 to $945 for an open trailered truck from California to South Carolina (2,500 plus miles).

I met Billy at Hooters during the Porsche Rennsport Reunion. He had just delivered a bunch of Porsches. Billy delivered Princess 27 to me last summer. Cool guy. Pay him in cash and tip him. Use my name.

Thanks Chris. I just sent in my quote request. Price will be a factor, but i'm looking for the best for the money not just the cheapest... this looks to be a good sort, he's definetlly been trusted with some seriously nice cars in the past... nice photo gallery on his web site.

thanks again,

Nate

Oh! That's Jim in the red shirt and Billy in the shorts. I'm taking the picture. I'm not an old guy. Well......I don't think I am. I'm in better shape than Jim! LOL

Good luck with Billy. I think I paid him $700 or so to get #27 from Delaware to Tampa. All the other places I called wanted $800 or more. 27 was a dead car, too. If yours starts up and drives, the price should be less.

HI Nate,

I've used DAS "dependable auto shippers" twice in the last year for Zs shipped California to NC...I would recomend if still looking.

Serious money to be saved if you and/or seller happen to be close to one of their "terminals"... :bunny:

My 2 cents,

David
