Instead of complaining how 'misinformed' people are, why don't YOU spearhead an effort to get all the foreign ownership, manufacturing, importing, outsourcing, (and what else?) out of the U.S!?? Make "american made" mean just what it says.... LOL

Have a nice new year.

There building a New Toymotor plant 45 mins. north of me. The problem is that American Cars cost to damn much!

All of the car lots are next to each other here. Why go buy a New Monkey Carlo For 45 grand when you can go across the street and buy a 350Z With all the options for 35?

No wonder there losing business

Bill's point was right.

The PROBLEM is our own economy! If we eliminated ALL the imported GOODS, and instead concentrated on doing busines within the U.S., then prices of domestic products would go DOWN, and prices of foreign stuff would go UP. Another reason why imported stuff is cheaper is that people in other countries are willing to get paid minimum wage for what Americans get $20/hr to do. Those foreign companies put those profits back into the system to further improve their products. why do you think people want to emmegrate to the U.S.??? To buy imported cars?? No. For the higher pay & living standards.

It's a conundrum, that we revere our Japanese cars that were built and imported with so much respect and admiration, and we turn up our noses to all the ricers who are doing the same thing to their Hondus, Lexus, etc. Of course WE think WE'RE different, because we're dealing with historic or antique treasures. LOL

Yeah, but I don't think we'll ever see a Civic or Accord on the Auction Block at Barrett-Jackson. But hey, you never know!

Plus I've never stuck my nose up to someone in a civic unless it had a four foot tall wing, clear tail lights and a 10 inch exhaust tip.

Nate

That's exactly the point... :D

I don't understand why Nissan's CE0 wasn't driving a new R34 GTR myself. As you were saying how is anyone else gonna buy your product if your not proud enough of it to do so yourself. :geek:

Alfa that was the funniest pic of Adam and Eve and a Z :cheeky:

Remember that you're talking about a Japanese guy in Japan. The have certain rules about how to conduct yourself. One point is why they created the 'Datsun' name, in case the cars were a flop.

It might be that he WASN'T ALLOWED to have a Nissan car of his own.

Have you met many Japanese named Carlos?

the Datsun name was around before Nissan came to the U.S.

And there was an article that came out after Carlos' little ordeal saying that Nissan officials were not pleased that he was driving something other than a Nissan.

There's holes in your boat, set General Quartes and grab a plug n' patch kit.
