Posted December 31, 200420 yr comment_106731 Hey townsville guys..Just wondering if there is a townsville zed club in existence? I know there are a lot of zeds around from all years, so i thought there might be something in place. If not it would be interesting to start one! December 31, 200420 yr comment_106734 There is a Q club with several Townsville members, no reason why you NQ'ers can't form your own chapter, see http://www.zcarclubq.org.au/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14492-townsville-zed-club/#findComment-106734 Share on other sites
December 31, 200420 yr Author comment_106742 Yeah i'm on that site too. Good stuff. I was just in brisbane and i went in to the zed shop and the fella gave me the magazine for the last zed nationals, and yeah got me thinking. There are a lot of zeds in townsville, and most wouldn't be in the qld club, so i figured starting a club here might get more people down to nats, and it would also mean going on cruises, ooooh yeeaah. January 1, 200520 yr comment_106845 I'd love to get the Townsville Zed (or even all datsun) owners together. I've counted maybe 30+ 240 and 260 zeds around now. Add a bunch of 280s, Z31s and Z32 and it'd be a pretty big meet!Mick, a while back one of the local 510 owners was telling me theres a datsun club in the works. Haven't heard anything since however.Richard: Who are the Townsville people that are already part of the Q Z car club? January 1, 200520 yr Author comment_106888 I know skimmo is in it, cause he was on the cover of the magazine haha. What's the deal with starting something like that? Have to tell any government authorities or anything? I wouldn't know where to start! January 2, 200520 yr comment_106938 Yeh Warren Skimmings, there are a couple of others from up that way but I don't have a current membership list at present. Its up to you Townsvillians of course but you could just organise outings informally. The Z Car Club Q is incorporated, has a formal treasurer, secretary, etc has to lodge annual returns, bank account, and all that stuff. There is a lot of work involved in just keeping the club functioning, let alone organising activities.
