January 1, 200520 yr comment_106873 California plates I think, so try www.zcca.org then go to the club indicator. Look at the members' ride sections of the CA clubs. If no luck there try and see if anyone posted a pic of this car at any of the CA shows (hybrid, zcca, msa, etc.) here, zhome, zdriver, zcar, etc. good luck. Striking color! January 1, 200520 yr comment_106891 It looks like a 1970 Z. 1970 through 1971 there was only one orange, paint code 918 orange (I believe it is called sunset orange). In 1972 the 918 was available but they introduced the 110 red which was also known as persimmon red. It was a darker orange color. But I believe the car in the picture is the 918 orange (sunset orange).JLP :cheeky: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14505-looking-for-the-owner-of-this-car/#findComment-106891 Share on other sites

January 2, 200520 yr comment_106917 I was driving home from work in June and passed these guys in Benicia heading to the show I guess. He was following the blue 240z being towed. The car is beautiful, I'm going to paint mine the same color when I get to it. It's like a life altering event seeing Z's like these on the road, I'll never forget them. January 2, 200520 yr Author comment_106918 cj71z Do you know the name of that color and what brand of paint it is? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14505-looking-for-the-owner-of-this-car/#findComment-106918 Share on other sites
January 2, 200520 yr comment_106919 Almost any "brand" of paint can be tinted to the correct color, once you know what it is. It looks like a factory color, although from the look of the car at the Blackhawk show, I'd say it was a repaint. January 2, 200520 yr comment_106923 I don't recall seeing any "official" names for paint colors, I think that colors were assigned numbers and these names may be less than "official"mperdue has a web page with examples of the various colors for first gen Z cars. It is located at: http://datsunprojects.org/zpaintcodes/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14505-looking-for-the-owner-of-this-car/#findComment-106923 Share on other sites
January 2, 200520 yr comment_106933 I've seen 918 called mexican orange before. Most car makers have a name for a color rather than just a paint code. January 2, 200520 yr comment_106936 Was this on an OFFICAL NISSAN DOCUMENT (brochure or ?)? If so, which one? I'm curious. I had my 2nd 240Z repainted #918 and could not find an official name for it, other than #918 Orange.http://zhome.com/History/colors.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14505-looking-for-the-owner-of-this-car/#findComment-106936 Share on other sites
