January 7, 200520 yr comment_107690 Mike, Koni reds or yellows are not even competition shocks, let alone made and sold for rallying Actually the yellows are quite a decent non-professional circuit shock, certainly for the money. Bilsteins and their derivatives such as Ohlins and Proflex are apparently the go for rallying. Bilsteins are undoubtably the way to go, no argument, I simply passed on my hard earned facts. When I had the suspension up-graded, I went along with the zed guru and accepted that what he fitted was suitable. It wasn't and thats the reason I report the un-suitability of Koni's for rally related activities. There is a possibility that I got stiched up and didn't get what I paid for, is there any way of being able to see what model Koni I've been using without pulling the strut? All that I have is a white adjustment knob that is only usable now for the rears! January 7, 200520 yr comment_107806 Does anyone know where you can get Bilstein struts for a 240Z? I've contacted many distrubutors and have been told that Bilstein struts for 240Z's are no longer made/sold.I had them on one of my previous 240Z's and absolutely LOVED them. January 8, 200520 yr comment_107827 Friends of mine got a set of new Bilsteins for their targa 260Z recently, they may not be specifically made by Bilstein for the Zed but obviously there are some which can be adapted. Shorter than stock is better anyway, except for rallying and other road bashing activities Sorry Mike, it sounded like you were complaining about the yellows for your application. Its amazing that a Zed 'guru' would recommend them for rallying. If they are adjustable at the top with the Koni knob (for rebound) then it sounds like they would be yellows. Other Koni shocks use that knob too but I think that yellows are the lowest spec ones that do. Other Koni shocks use that knob too but I think that yellows are the lowest spec ones that do.Those are the Koni Sport shocks single adjustable rebound only. They are rebuildable and revalvable for different spring rates. On my STS Sentra I have the DA 8611 Sport Inserts with the nob on top for rebound and a screw adjustment on the bottom with 12 adjustments for compression. You can also get them rebuilt at Pro Parts Not sure of their current prices but they rebuilt my DA's for $90.00 each.If your really interested in great shocks there are tons available but you need to go to coilovers. If you go coilover which really isn't that much more expensive and worth it every penny then you can do just about anything.I'm thinking of getting a set of Advanced Design Coilovers for my 280Z.Art Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14506-koni-questions/?&page=2#findComment-107831 Share on other sites
