Hey TomoHawk,

You mentioned a couple of times that the Zed was the most popular Sports Car in America.

Wrong old mate, Wrong !!!!!!. It wasn't just the good old US of A.

In the first couple of years of production, the 240Z was the most popular car in the WORLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rick.

Rick,

I was referring to cars in the U.S. because the show is based in the U.S., and mostly American cars are sold. Just to make the American viewers take a note that this car has a unique place in "American" automobile history. :) The Corvette fans would probably be up in flames STRAIGHT AWAY!

But, good on Yer... LOL

thx

He, He, He, Yair TomoHawk,

Not just the Corvette fans mate.

Add the Austin Healey fans,

the MG fans,

etc, etc, etc, etc ad infinitum ROFLLOL

I get a lot of satisfaction from pointing out the Zed's early popularity to the owners of other marques, especialy if they make the mistake of looking down their noses at my "Precious". :finger::finger:

Some people have got their priorities all wrong... Are we forgetting the PURPOSE of the Z car was a cheap sports car any person could afford? Why do you want them to increase in value so much that most will sit in garages collecting dust and trophies? I would much rather see them being driven on the streets as they were intended.

Talk about vanity! eesh

You said it perfactly. And besides that if they went up in value then poor boys like me could afford parts.

Hi Rick

I find the MG guys to be the best fun :devious: You can always see they are checking out your car, but trying to look inconspicuous at the same time. LOL Whenever I saw an MG drive by in my Z, I always just grinned at them. You can tell what they're thinking! ROFL

Yair Lachlan, I know EXACTLY what you mean mate.

September last year one of the local schools held their yearly fete and asked all the car clubs to have some cars on show.

As I live here, I was the first on site. As other cars arrived, the schools organiser would position them. He said he wanted to keep the body styles together. A blue MG arrived. The driver argued with the organiser 'cause he didn't want to be parked next to "Precious". I agreed with him and pointed out to the organiser;

That by parking next to "Precious", fewer people would show interest in his MG because,--- like heads,----everybody's got one,----he got all huffy and went home.

Now, whether he had a dislike of Zeds or was offended by my underarm deodorant,(or lack of it), I don't know.

He wasn't missed and haven't seen him since.

Rick. LOLLOL

Hey Rick Bolus,

Are you "Bolus and Snopes" from the good old days?

"Vintage Motorsport" arrived in the mail today. The Barrett-Jackson flyer "Sneak Preview" shows this Z to be auctioned at the Scottsdale auction January 25th- 30th.
