A few years ago I had the struts replaced on my 260 and noticed that it sat quite a bit higher than it originally had with the stock worn out struts.

I have junked the front and rear crash bumpers but other than that the car should be about the same weight as stock. To me it looks like it sits higher than normal. Any ideas, Chuck

i believe the 280z's and 260z's sat higher than the 240's. Thats y some people use 240 strut housings on their 260's and 280's. So that picture u used for reference wouldnt be good.

heres a link to a picture of my car with stock springs and new struts.

I dont think theres anything wrong. You are using stock springs right? The hight has jus gone back up to where it is supposed to be when it came from factory. When ur struts wear, you car begins to sit lower.

I had the same issue right after I installed the new springs and shocks. My 240 must have come up at least 2 inches instead of lowering my Z by the 2 inches the stated would happen. I think normal, stock height, measured at the rocker lip would be in the 7-9 inch range. I finally went to coil-overs to control the "exact" ride height I wanted.

You guys are probably right about the car's original ride height being higher than anything that I had seen. The struts were worn out when I bought the car so it sat pretty low until they were changed. I wouldn't mind putting coil overs on it but not really a priority right now. Would rather try to find a turbo engine for the money. Thanks, Chuck
