Back in 1977 (I think), I bought a Chrysler KC Centura. (They had a lot of problems with the first model, the KB). Had the 265 Hemi motor with a Borg Warner Automatic Transmision. (I THINK the same engine and gearbox was used in the much larger and heavier Valiant Regal).

Quite a shock to the system trading up from a Series 3 V.W.

Had stacks of power, good road holding and economical.

These days you should pick up a reasonably good one for around the 2 to $3,000 mark. Don't see many around these days though.

Another old Chrysler I liked was the Scorpion. Had something of a sporty look to it but seem to be as rare as hen's teeth now.
