Did you need to put spacers to get these wheels to fit? Would you need spacers to fit them without the large offset

Replied to your PM - Posted answer here also for others that might be interested to know.

My rims where fitted to the Orange 72 240z, shown above, with no spacers at all. If you have stock guards I would recommend a 15x7 with a 0 offset would be perfect, mine with the -6 work but might (I say might as I did not have a good look - once I put the fronts on knowing how my Zed is flared I knew the fronts needed to be bigger so I did not check clearances) need the lip rolled to ensure 100% clearance. The Zed in the photos has non stock calipers, JFZ I think, and there was heaps of room, I mean heaps of room. I will see if I can visit and test fit to another Zed which has been lowered - I will take a lot more pics re clearance so all will know how these offsets work on stock guards/fenders. Also back on the clearances of the fronts with my rims 15x7 -6 offset we did push the front suspension to see if there were going to be any issues and none we seen (remember this Zed is stock height)

Hope this helps.

Thats awsome cause i have slightly rolled guards and its lower about an inch (see my sig) so if i was after a bit of a dish, what offset would you recommend? (i might get 8s on the back and 7 on the front)

I dont really know the dynamics so your help would be appreciated. Also, is there anything i need to specify when i roder them aside from 15*8 and then the offset?

Deus Ex - do you have coil overs? If yes you will have not issues with larger than 4.5" Back Space. 15x8 with a 0 offset will be a tight fit as the BS is 4.5". The 8's do have a much better looking dish and much deeper dish. But hey before you spend your $$ why not let me get some more pic with these installed on another Zed that is 1" lower. This will give you a much better understanding.

So anybody who is Auckland who has a Zed that is lowered with stock guards (or rolled lip) and would be kind enough to let me visit and test fit my mags and take some pic shot me a PM. Nustad do you know anyone here in Auckland - Bruce? Is yours lowered? I know a number of Zed here that have been lowered but they are race cars that have coil-overs + fibreglass guards that have been stretch already ie non stock. Tomorrow is good for me - Sunday 16th

Yes and no - 15x8 will be a tight fit with stock springs with the right offset and tyre combo they can fit. I say tyre combo as some tires bulge more than others and also depends on the tire width. If you look at my gallery you will see a width/top shot of the 225/50 on the 15x8 and you can see that the side wall is very straight = good tire for the rim in a tight/clearance fitment.

Here is what I know re the research I have done on mags and fitment in a Zed with stock springs. Max BS is 4.5". The rims most ZG in Japan run are 15x8.5 -6 and 15x9.5 -19 these rims give 4.5" BS however ZG have the overflares so this is out for you (I did not go this path as the widest tire I can get here in NZ is 225/50/15 which has a recommended rim width of 8" max). Now as you can see from my orginial post my 15x8 -12 offset (ET -12) are a little wide for the stock setup. My 8's give a 4" BS so there is 0.5 left (and I checked this when these were installed) so a 8" with ET 0 will have 4.5" BS and have 4.5" sticking out towards the lip (8" + 1" = 9" total rim width from outside to inside) this will take 0.5" (or the 12mm in my case) away from the outside to the inside and then clearance should be ok. Best thing to do is remove your rim place a straigh edge from your rear hub going up to your lip then take a steel rule and measure the Front Space - and while you are at it the Back Space. If you have 4.5" in both direction then a 8" with ET 0 will work (again assume good tire combo) if you have more all the better, if less then it still might fit but it will be tight (assumes only just less than 4.5)

Hope this helps - and for a few minutes of time + straight edge + ruler you will know for sure if the 8's will work for you.

Cheers
