Need help parting out a '72 240Z in Dallas, TX

I have located a 1972 240Z that has extensive rust. For what it is worth, the owner says the car ran fine before he pulled the engine/trans. The rust is so extensive that it is not worth putting back together. The red interior seems in good shape as well as the glass. (There are a few parts I would like, but do not have the room to disassemble the car.)

Does anyone in the Dallas area have an interest in parting it out and selling the parts? Currently, the seller wants $900, and I have not discussed the real value of the 240Z in its current condition.

Let me know.

Hey zed2,

I'm in Dallas. Let me know if i can be of any help though I don't have a place for you to put it. I've disassembled a couple of Z's (just don't ask me to put one together.....) I'd talk him down to a couple hundred or so. You could probably pick up this one for $100 or so '73 in dallas I went by last Saturday and it was still there. It doesn't even have too much rust.

What exactly do you want to do with the car anyway? Do you just need some spare parts but don't have a place to put the whole car?

Michael, can you tell me more about the one you posted the link to and email me the additional pix you said you have? Do you know what they want for it?

Maybe we can figure something out. I'm up here in Denton, and could use some of the interior parts(red). I could drag it up here and dismantle it. What do you need from it? Does it have a clear title(for shell disposal, since scrapyards require one)? Let me know.

I don't really know more than what I posted in the previous thread, except that it was still there last Saturday. Either no one bid on it or they didn't have the auction yet. Look up the Dallas Can! Acadamy on Yahoo Yellow Pages (near 75206 zip code) or somethign like that and ask them how to purchase one of their salvage cars. Probably if you offer something like $100 they'll take it if it didn't get any bids at auction. I'll send you a PM about the pics.

LOL if you can't find the title the scrap yards will take it if you cut it in half. I know all about that...

I assume it has a clear title (the owner used to be a car dealer). I need the radiator, master brake vacuum, weather stripping (NOS in box), carpets (NOS in box), and some rubber trim. I have no interest in the red seats or interior trim.
