is this the FSM that bambi talks about that's a must for zed owners? is a 72 FSM the same as a 70 or 71 FSM?

by the way this looks like a good deal, nes pas?

There is a different FSM for each year of 240Z. This auction contains only the "Engine" portion of the 1972 FSM (the chassis portion is not shown or listed in the auction)

The "original" FSM's for the 1970, 1971, and 1972 240Z's were published in 2 volumes. One covered the Engines (L20A and L24), the Second covered the Chassis (Brakes, Suspension, Interior, Electrical, etc). There were reprints published for these years that combined the two volumes into one book, so you have to look carefully at the cover. If it says "Engines" or says "Chassis" it is part of a 2 volume set. The single volume (reprints) FSM's I have seen say "Service Manual" or "Engine and Chassis" as I recall.

From 1973, the FSM's were published as a single volume.

You recall well...here is what my two say and they are both the single combine volume:

Service Manual

Datsun 240Z Sports

Model S30 Series

Engine

Chassis and Body

1971

Service Manual

Datsun 240Z Sports

Engine

Chassis and Body

1972

Now all I need are the 1970 and 1973 and my FSM collection will be complete. :) Anyone got either of these that would like to help complete my collection?

I have the 2 volume 1972 FSM, and the 1973 Combined Engine and Chassis FSM.

The binding on my 72 Chassis FSM book started to come apart, so I had the pages punched for a "comb" style binding. Doesn't look the greatest. but it now lays flat when open and none of the printing was lost in the process.

Here are some more pictures for you. The peach colored one is a combined chassis and engine 1971. The yellow colored manual is a later 1970 publication and it is chassis only. The light green colored one is what a 1970 engine manual would look like. This one happens to be a 1969 publication. The 1969 manuals are the same color, they have a printing date on them, the covers are a pebble textured paper, and they are three-hole punched. To the best of my knowledge all the later manual coverss are printed on a smooth paper and are not punched. I will sell the '71 manual for $60 if anyone is interested. IT is in A+ shape. I also have a couple A- 1970 chassis manuals I would sell for $45 each.
