Acid Etch? Quick Question

Thanks 26th, I am going to start tonight. I think I will do it by hand like you suggested and start with a 180 and work my way up to a 400. You are right, the body man told me the sanding was just to smooth the car up. So you suggest applying a vacuum cleaner brush directly about the body and vacuum the dust off? I was thinking about pulling it outside for a sec and blowing it off with an air compressor. Maybe I will try a combo of the 2. Thanks for all the help.

Hey, I'd like an update on how it went. Was the vacuum or compressed air more effective? Also, did you apply the primer yourself? If so, in your opinion is this something someone should do without professional equipment?

Hey AWC, it went really good actually. I started off with a 150 in my garage and my girl friend actually helped out! Anyways I went over the car in sections, fenders, hood, roof, etc. I eventually worked up to a 300 grit and the body was super smooth. I actually found a local hardware store that sold OSPHO so I bought some there and applied it. For spraying the primer, I used some poles and fabbed up a "spray booth" in my garage with a tarp and some rolls of clear plasitc. I got my uncle to come over and spray the primer because he has messed with cars a little bit, but all and all it went pretty well and I supposed I saved myself atleast a couple hundred bucks.
