FYI Fairlady Z video

Hey all,

That Best Motoring Fairlady Z japanese video that a member graciously uploaded screen shots from in the gallery last week was apparently produced in '02 although it's still currently listed on the japanese Best Motoring website as a currently available video special.

Regardless I had the local Japanese bookstore here in Los Angeles see if they can order a copy (they are available in both VHS and DVD but there's some discussion as to whether the Japanese DVD is zone encoded or not...) FYI the retail for each in Japan is right around 2500yen which is roughly US$20.-

If I hear more from them I will let you all know...

For those with real player there's a small sample of the video available online...

  • 1 month later...

I know you posted this a couple of months ago but I have a question. Did you ever get the video? I am very interested in getting this video. There are a few places that seem to be able to get me the international videos, but not that one. I know a few people were talking about getting it off ebay in another thread, but they were all from Australia. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Curtis

Have you tried calling one of the Kinokuniya Bookstores? There's several located in the States - I can think of locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Houton if I'm not mistaken...

The VHS copy is sold out but the DVD Zone 2 copy is still available as a special order.

Fyi,

I got my copy off ebay, and it was delivered from america!

I havent seen it on there lately though.

It is an ok video. Great photography and imagery as usual from the best motoring team, but not too much driving action. Whilst it isn't as stale as the "visual museum" series I have (understandably, because it is meant to be a visual museum), there is a lot of sitting next to the cars and talking.

Something which would be great if I understood Japanese!

In any case, beggars can't be losers, and compared to the other Japanese based FairladyZ videos I have , this one is worth getting!

*I'm still looking for that "racing skylines" dvd from the same series!
