Posted January 28, 200520 yr comment_110456 I found them on accident and checked them out. They are Dellorto's and that looks like a cannon manifold. What is the best triple setup for the money for my 240 with a soon to be 2.8 (not sure what head to use) 6-into-1 header w/ 2.5'' pipe. stage 2 cam. and should I use an electric fuel pump?forgot to tell ya, they are at $600.00 at the moment Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14794-are-these-decent-carbs-for-the-money/ Share on other sites

January 28, 200520 yr comment_110476 I had a set of those (actually 2) on my Pinto (!) years ago. They were decent carbs in that they worked well. The car started up fine, ran well, and the fuel mileage was decent. I have no first had knowlege of them on Datsun engines and I would think that you would have more trouble sourcing parts for them than you would with Webers or Mikunis. January 28, 200520 yr comment_110484 Zs-ondabrain and all, I have rebuilt my triple 48s Dellortos using this firm www.racecar.co.uk/dellorto/. I know that they are in the Uk, but they do ship worldwide. I had no problem getting the bits I needed. As for set up get hold of "How to power tune your Weber and Dellortos " by Des Hamill, a great book, and this will give you all the info you need to know about setup (which will differ from the 2.4 and 2.8). I think 40s and 45s are still available new.I hope that helpsIan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14794-are-these-decent-carbs-for-the-money/#findComment-110484 Share on other sites
January 28, 200520 yr comment_110513 sblake01 is correct. Sourcing parts to rebuild or rejet are going to be the keys to determine if you are happy with these carbs in the long run.
