Dyno'd my 280 on a Dynopack

A decent dyno tuner will put a probe up the exhaust system to monitor AFR. I assume this is how he knew it was running too rich. A normal O2 sensor won't tell you squat on a power run, as they're only used for "cruise" tuning. You need a wideband sensor with appropriate programming to let you calculate AFR at peak power.

Basically, advacing the timing will get you more power, but you might need to crank the fuel pressure a bit (or re-program th ECU to get more fuel in) to prevent pinging.

148 RWHP is great for what your set up is. I would be happy with those numbers

for a fairly stock L28 .

Not rain on anybody's parade here, but I'd be unhappy with this performance. I have seen a '78 280z (just a step up from stock, mostly exhaust work) pull 157 hp at the wheels. My L24 pulled 139 hp at the wheels last summer. All engine internals are stock. Granted, pulls were made on a DynoJet and here in Texas.

Nissan rates the L28 at 186 hp at the crank. 148 at the wheels is a hell of a drop.

its 170 at 5200rpm at the crank. but remember! this was GROSS HP. no belts, no water pump or anything. In a controled climate room under perfect conditions. thats cheating!!! hahah. but yeah, i dyno'd on dynapack, they dont calculate power the same way dynojects do. It also seems that dynapacks Numbers are lower than dynojets also. It supposed to be more accurate and is very good to tune ur car on.
