Posted February 1, 200520 yr comment_110928 I am looking at buying a set of tripple carbs for use on my 3.1L stroker build and would like to get some information on the different set ups available and why one may be better than the other. I have seen that we have Webber, Mikuni, SK, Dellotro, and now something called OER available to us for our L6 engines. Can anyone help hit the pros and cons of each of these inlcuding parts availability, ease of working on them, tuneability, performance, reliability, etc?I really need this info in the next day or so to begin making decisions on what I want to buy. February 1, 200520 yr comment_110933 Well Mikuni not longer makes PHH carbs, but you can still get parts. I had the same question when I was shopping for carbs. At the time I only considered Weber and Mikuni. People who have owned both like Mikuni better because it is more stabile. I really like my Mikuni 44s once you sync and jet it correctly thats it. I haven't had to adjust it since. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14836-mikuni-vs-sk-vs/#findComment-110933 Share on other sites

February 2, 200520 yr comment_110984 Yeah Mikuni only have 50mm carbs these days but I am told they are the best for the same reasons Curtis said they stay in tune for ages. I've also been told that internally the parts are better quality than what webers use. February 3, 200520 yr Author comment_111158 So what I'm hearing is that Mikuni is the way to go. Is this correct?I really surprised that more people didn't chime in on this thread. February 4, 200520 yr comment_111274 i think it's more the fact that we had a similar discussion a while ago comparing weber and Mikuni's.It really comes down to personal preferance and parts availability. For me I like the Mikuni's cause they are Japanese and i think suit a Z better than webers. February 26, 200520 yr comment_114177 Neither source gave me any good info. I am not buying a motorcycle carb. Any more ideas? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14836-mikuni-vs-sk-vs/#findComment-114177 Share on other sites
February 26, 200520 yr comment_114182 well they are the two experts...maybe your not asking the right questions. Both Rebello and Classic Datsun build and sell high performance datsun motors. Not motorcycles.... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14836-mikuni-vs-sk-vs/#findComment-114182 Share on other sites
