TomoHawk Posted February 5, 2005 Share #1 Posted February 5, 2005 They're taking email questions on-air. I thought I might ask them when did the first 240Z appear in the daytona 24 hrs?You got any favorites running?thx
panchovisa Posted February 5, 2005 Share #2 Posted February 5, 2005 Tony Stewart/ Jan Lammers/ Andy Wallace are running second 7 seconds back. Probably one of the strongest diver line ups, with Dixon/Manning/Mears.Went to Florida once to watch 24 hours. Got freaking cold, spent all night standing next to light generator exhaust pipe!!! I'd never go again without motorhome.

Bambikiller240 Posted February 5, 2005 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2005 Stewart / Lammers / Wallace are my favorites and picks to win.
panchovisa Posted February 5, 2005 Share #5 Posted February 5, 2005 Geez, I belived the propaganda about the sunshine state and went in a golf shirt and Members Only jacket (ya back when they weren't comical!).The generator was loud and stinky, and they stopped selling coffee about midnight. Man was I happy to see the sunrise.Awesome watching 962's lap Roush Mustangs, lapping RX-7's at night on the banking!!!!
Greatwhite Posted February 5, 2005 Share #6 Posted February 5, 2005 I'm watching.Just for the sake of keeping this thread alive a bit longer, which race do you perfer - the 24 hours of Daytona or the 24 hours of LeMans?
panchovisa Posted February 5, 2005 Share #7 Posted February 5, 2005 The track for 24 of Daytona sucks for spectators. Would have to be LeMans, though I've never been there. Better food, drink, women, oh and cars!
Greatwhite Posted February 5, 2005 Share #8 Posted February 5, 2005 Yeah, I'd have to agree with you on the cars. I'd much rather watch the Chevy Corvette battle it out with all the Ferraris, Astons, and Saleens to name a few on the chopping block. Someday I'll go there... panchovisa Posted February 5, 2005 Share #9 Posted February 5, 2005 Stewart into the lead at 200 laps. He is one of the few Nascar guys that can really drive anything, Sprinters, Indycars, Stockers, Road racers. And he's not a kiss arse corporate spokesmodel. TomoHawk Posted February 5, 2005 Author Share #10 Posted February 5, 2005 I think the track at Lemans is longer too. So I'd go there.
