well the 24 hours of Daytona are a tad cheaper to go to but my fave is still Sebring, best 12 hours of racing IMO, been to many kinds of racing :boat, motorcycle, sports car, classic, indy lite , cart, nascar and trans am , still love Sebring the best , I want to visit some the west coast tracks, would be kinda nice to see all the hills and diffrence of setups , by the way I and cheering on the Zotz Race team , think they are running a modified porsche 911 not sure which class, they work on my Z's :)

If you want to se some really groovy westcoast racing go to the Monterey History races! i'm talking about actual cars from the 1930's (maybe earlier!), the 40's, 50s. real OLD jags, they had like 12 Ferrari GTOs in one race.

Oh yeah- Alain DeCadenet was there this year, too, for SPEED TV.

Been there several times. They have cars dating all the way back to the early 1900's. Such as Henry Fords famous #999 (1902), Ferrari's, Bugatti's, Talbot Lago, Jags, MG, almost any brand of race car you could imagine.

Lots of great drivers attend also. Over the years I met & got autographs from Carroll Shelby there. Phil Hill, Dan Gurney, Jackie Stewart, and Emerson Fitipaldi too

The Daytona 24 is a different sanction than LeMans these days. The cars you are watching at Daytona will not necessarily appear at LeMans. I think this year's spectacle is staged mostly for the stock car drivers to get some practice for the road racing. It ain't like the good-ol days.

Daytona International Speedway has undergone some significant changes this past summer. They cut a new tunnel and the garages have all been redone so that spectators can view the cars without getting in everyone's way. I have had lots of stuff stolen by people walking through the garages and lifting things out of tool boxes etc.

Florida has winter in February. Its COLD down here! We used to construct pit shelters from 2x4s and visqueen, but things are much more sophistcated now. I'll tell you it is damned cold standing on the pit wall at 3 in the morning.

The best place to watch the race is from the grandstands. It is clean and from way up there you can see most of the entire track. My favorite place is all the way down at the end of the grandstands past turn one.

yes it is very cold , anywhere at Daytona during the 24 hours LOL , I prefer paddock passes when I get to go, Sebring just had a huge overhaul last year, I haven't seen it in person but heard its very nice , but they removed almost all of the runway now :(, yea the stockcar drivers seem to be moving in but also I knowticed alot of other drivers from other series appearing as well, very impressed witht he pace and the fact that soo many cars are running so fast this late in the race, also just saw my boys are still in it :)
