MikeW Posted February 6, 2005 Share #3 Posted February 6, 2005 I want my Z's turn signals have a clicking sounds like the other cars in my house....does anybody know how to make a trick? The "clicking" sound is produced by either the flasher unit or by an auxiliary device that the flasher plugs into. Mine is of the second type; see the attached picture. This is a very easy thing to change out. It's up under the dash just to the left of the steering wheel and requires no tools.
1GENZED Posted February 12, 2005 Share #4 Posted February 12, 2005 I'm just expanding on Mike's replyThe flasher unit is the part that alternates your blinkers on and off.the clicking you hear is produced by this device. If you go to your local parts store they will carry three types of flashers, usually on the parts floor. The standard, a heavy duty, and a louder flasher.Just match the number to the one on your flasher.

In the case of Mike's picture it's the LEFT item that makes the loud click in case the flasher unit (on the right) doesn't have a loud enough click to be heard or in addition to the one from the unit.Enrique
eulb1 Posted February 13, 2005 Share #6 Posted February 13, 2005 My Z had one of those noisemakers on when I got it. It slowed down the flashing considerably so I removed it. Now I have to actually pay attention to the green indicators when making slight turns that don’t cancel the signals.
