Got my custom exhaust system!

I have to say, Maxi muffler did a great job on my custom 2.5" system, and you all remember the 24" glasspack I posted about, well, the results are amazing! I have never been so happy in my life. It is loud yes but not as loud as you would think, and totally not ricey at all.... The sound?? sounds like an old ferrari from the 50's or 60's, the res. isnt bad at all and the sound is not raunchy but very aggresive, I'll get some pics and sounds up as soon as I can :)

wewhoo! :classic:

Congrats Jared! Sounds like you're comming right along with your Z. The inline 6 is a beefy little engine and there is no way it would sound ricey......unless you tried really, really hard to make it ricey with a so called garbage can size tip that the real ricers use to make their cars go faster (in their minds) ROFL

When you said "glasspack" do you mean that is all you are running? I am planning to run a turbo muffler only on the back w/o any other muffler. I do not want a lot of noise. I had dual 3" pipes with 4" megaphones on the racecar back in the 80's. It was LOUD! I want a subtle sound that lets the engine breathe while producing that famous 6-cylinder sound. Tell us more about your system. (headers et al)

Love to know what all you used for your exhaust I have a 2.5 from ms and I am not exactly thrilled, and the other has the monza and its too quiet

SEEREX - I've got the MSA 2.5 exhaust too. I did not use the Turbo muffler provided with the kit but installed a Dynomax Ultraflow SS muffler with a Dynomax Bullet Race Muffler just behind the header. I'm very pleased with the sound. If you're going to be in Orlando on 25/26 Feb for the ZFest, I'll take you for a spin.

Cheers,

Sean.
