Posted February 11, 200520 yr comment_112391 My aunt has a 1970 Datsun 240Z, VIN# HLS300073. The odometer reads 29022 miles, but I am not sure how accurate that is. Is this car worth anything or is it simply spare parts? It does run, but not very well.I was told there were only 300 1970 Z's produced? February 11, 200520 yr comment_112395 Hey! Welcome to the club. In reference to the above, about 500 or so 240Zs were built in 1969 (1970 model year) with a little over 16,000 shipped and sold during 1970. Check out www.zhome.com for more historical info...BEFORE assuming it's only good for spare parts, let's see some pictures! Some folks may be interested in the whole car! Or, if you are not interested in selling it, there are tons of excellent opinion-makers on what is or is not repairable/restorable for the money you may want to spend. Of course, anything is restorable for the right $$$Again, welcome! And let's see what your aunt's car looks like!X Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14964-whats-it-worth/#findComment-112395 Share on other sites
February 11, 200520 yr comment_112396 Err, what kind of shape is it in. Running badly can be corrected. '73rd' Z would be worth something if it's complete and in any kind of reasonable condition, body and interior wise. Pictures????(xray is apparently a faster typist than I!) February 15, 200520 yr comment_112797 Speaking of to good to be true, I didn't want to tell you guys this but i just have to. I purchased my 1972 240z, granted it is a bit rusty, and interior needs some help, and the engine runs, for only $450. Good deal or what? What does everyone else think??????Too good to be true? he hasnt even said how much he wants for it.Early cars in original condition, not too badly rusted, can fetch stupid money. If you look on ebay, the 240z currently listed range from asking prices of $2000 to $19,000.completed listings (cars that actually got sold) range from $460 to $5600Ofcourse that all depends on the condition of the car.maybe you should have a look at ebay and get a feel for prices and conditions, and post a few pictures here too.
