Posted February 13, 200520 yr comment_112516 Ok so my Z is coming along well now! after a week of 15hr at college and 35 hours at work, the weekend finally came! I have almost all paint off my car and I finally found car in my bondo ( the root of all EVIL). To make along story short my clutch doesn't work, when you press in on it, with no resistence it goes right to the floor. I tried bleeding it, but i think it just leaks air to much. I bought a new master and slave cylider, I hope that is what i needed. Please inlighten me with your clutch knowledge and tell me if this is the right thing to do or if it is something else. THANKS AGAIN Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14981-clutch/ Share on other sites
February 13, 200520 yr comment_112523 You are on the right path! One or the both of them is not working, unless the lines are empty! Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14981-clutch/#findComment-112523 Share on other sites
February 13, 200520 yr Author comment_112526 Well i tried bleeding the lines but there was no end to the air coming out, and the top lid to the master cylinder turned out to not be sealing at all, who knows what else was not sealing. So you think with this new master and slave it will fix it? I hope so I want to drive it next weekend if i can find out how to tune the valves and ect!! February 13, 200520 yr comment_112528 I'd examine the flexible hose from the metal line to the slave, and replace it too unless you are POSITIVE that it is not leaking air. February 13, 200520 yr Author comment_112558 I Will Get A New Hose Also I Think, I Looked And Its Like Only Maybe At Most 10 Bucks, Thanks For The Advise! Anyone Else Have Anything Else I Might Be Over Looking? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14981-clutch/#findComment-112558 Share on other sites
February 13, 200520 yr comment_112564 The lids to the master cylinders have vents and are not supposed to seal completely. I just sounds like the old master was shot and needed to be replaced. Personally I will rebuild the wheel cylinders when they are good enough , but I never rebuild a Master. As Bambisnuffer said take a close look at any and all of the rubber brake lines , and replace them if there is a question if they are surviceable. bean Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14981-clutch/#findComment-112564 Share on other sites
