Hi I am looking at getting a set of early 260z bumpers to put on my 240z. Both sets I am looking at I am going to have to make an offer on and I dont know what they are supposed to be worth. Both sets seem to have good crome and only minor dents and scratches.

Too much variation to evaluate without detailed front and back pictures! Dents and scratches make the value drop like a rock-only rust is worse!

If it was indeed "perfect", IMO that was a LOW price for a "Nissan NOS bumper".

NOS Nissan bumpers usually go between $350 and $500, aftermarket or rechromes about 2/3 that. A used bumper that is presentable for a driver car, but needs some work to be ready for a rechrome job could go for between $75 and $250 depending on the damage.

I can take some pictures of the set that came off my '72 over the next few days and tell you what I would expect them to sell for-if they were for sale.

although described as 70 to72, they look like early 260 bumpers to me because of the rubber guards. ( not chrome) correct me if i'm wrong.don't know where u are so shipping has to be taken into consideration.

To me it looks like 260z bumpers also as they have the shocks on them just like my car. I thought the early 240s had solid mounts. But then again I am far from an expert:)

FWIW, the 1973 240 had 5 mph bumpers w/ shock absorbers, but NOT the style bumper shown in that auction.

Another case of someone either trying to rip people off, or uneducated in the Z lifestyle.
