Who WENT to Z Fest?

I won't whine anymore about the 350's or as those guys like to call their cars "Z33's". You heard enough of me about that on Saturday I'm sure. I do believe there were more Z cars, err first gens in 2004. The Z33's were nice but I just can't get into them. Better quit now, I'm whinning

It was a fun day and a great show. Can't wait for next year, suppose to be indoors. We can all die from early Z exhaust fumes together!

Intimidated by what, a 350Z, I think not. Intimidated by the possibility of rain was more like it.

Next year there will be one more 240Z even if I have to tow it there and am looking foward to meet the rest of the club members !!!!!! That weekend is saved on my calender !!! 350Z is not my thing either !!! I could buy three nice Z's for the price of one 350Z !!!!

Wish i could make it to one of the big shows..we have two small Z clubs here, One of them are not active. One day maybe i can...hopefully Ole Rusty will be ready to go to!

Many thanks to everyone who helped with the car show. The pending doom of rainy weather is probably the reason so many stayed home. Only one stock 280Z was entered so there was no second place awarded!

I lent a big hand to putting on the car show as a member of the Suncoast Z Car Club; assigned to the car show portion of the event. We had a nice number of judges and we kept close to ZCCA judging guidelines. I see from the morning e-mail that the conversation about next year's show has started. We learned a lot from this show and will be having lots of discussions about making it a better event. There has been talk about doing it indoors.

Seriously, there was a real weak number of S30 models entered in the show. A lot of the Tampa S30 crowd showed up later but did not display. Mark your date books for next year! Enter the show! Help out with the judging! Think about it. We judged 98 cars and the total registration for the event was around 130. The show has all the potential of a major regional event.

I had a really good time (even with the rain). I drove down from Ft Walton Beach on Friday with nine 350Zs from the Panhandle Z Club. I met the club members for the first time on Friday and joined their club (a great bunch of guys). As the only non-350Z who made the drive down from Ft Walton Beach, before we started driving some of the 350Z guys were a little concerned that I may not have been able to keep up (they needn't have worried!). :laugh: We averaged 80-90 mph on the way down and it was fun!

Overall, it would have been nice to see more S30s at the show, but I can appreciate the time and effort the other enthusiasts have put into their cars Z33, Z32, Z31, etc. I met some cool people and had a great time. I think I spent 20 hours driving my car over the three days and covered approx. 1,000 miles.

For those S30 owners who were scared off by the rain, buy a umbrella and a chamois. :classic: These cars were made to be driven. I'll definitely be back next year. I hope to see more of you there.

PS: It was great to meet Art Singer (SportZ Magazine), Carl Beck, Bill Coffee, Ross Corrigan (Modern Motorsports), Seerex, Vicky (ZRush), 26th Z (for those who don't know he doesn't have 26 Z Cars, he owns serial #26!) and all the others whose names I can't remember (sorry, I'm awful with names)

I didn't know there was a Panhandle Z Car Club! The past two trips I made to Gulf Breeze I couldn't find any Z things to do. So I chose to get some "Diesel Fuel" from Flounders (actually I managed to drink 4 of those things). One of my S30's is originally from Pensacola and it would be fun to make a trip with the '77 280Z back to its home port. How long did it take to make that trip from Fort Walton to Orlando?

By the time the next event rolls around I should have at least two Z's stationed in Port Saint Lucie ready to make that event. If I had some help I could have brought a '77 and three '78's to make a run on that 280Z class. :cheeky:

The club actually just started three weeks ago. We got our shirts at the IHOP before we departed for Orlando. Right now the majority of our club members have 350Z's (8) with two 300ZX's and three 240Z's, but there are a lot of cars in the area.

The drive to Orlando took a while due to an accident or two and some rain. When the road is clear, it's about a six hour drive from Ft Walton Beach to Orlando.

I'll be sure to do that. My friend's parents had their house completely totalled in the storm last summer (they used to live in Sea Shadow in Gulf Breeze on the Santa Rosa Sound) and they plan to keep the lot and are building a house in Jacksonville. Once the house in Port Saint Lucie is completed I plan on staging some vacations in Florida and hope to criss cross the state in one of my S30's. The idea is to make the rounds in one of my old Z's and hopefully gather some interesting photos.

I see pictures of your lovely in all the picture collections. Nice ride. Looks like you had fun. Who was the guy they got up to dance in Hooter's? You all take care up there in the Panhandle. I was impressed with the club caravan and participation!

Sean your car is zweet. I was lucky to get to sit by her all day. I overheard many people comment on how nice it is. It was great to meet you too.
