cremmenga Posted February 17, 2005 Share #1 Posted February 17, 2005 I need to adjust my valves (I think) on my L24. I have looked on this site at the forums and others also to find out exactly how, but came up short. If anyone can tell me step by step on how to and how much to I will dance at your wedding. On a side note my car runs kinda rough and shaky i think it just needs tuned anyone else have an idea? THanks!
hls30.com Posted February 17, 2005 Share #2 Posted February 17, 2005 1) Before you do anything else, get a Factory Service Manual for your car-there is no better advice that a newby Z owner can get. The after market manuals are decent in a pinch some of the time, but the FSM is the way to go. 2)Following the FSM, check your plugs, points, cap, and rotor. If your plugs are anything other than NGK BPR6ES, remove them and throw them away(if they are Bosch Platinum-list them on Ebay with an off the hook BIN, and hope someone else is impressed by a spark plug that has platinum in its name enough to buy them). Give the car a simple tuneup.2)Get a stepped feeler guage. (AutoZone carries it, but in this neck of the woods, most of the employees don't know what(or where) it is. It is in the tools section, and runs about $9). Follow the FSM procedure for adjustng the valves.I believe Valve adjustment is covered in the archives...Will
