How's this for a carby set up??

This is mainly for Gavin's benefit but I thought others might like to see how the previous owner of "Precious" set up the carbies.

I have to admit, she ran well until there was a blockage, fuel ran up into the hose, overflowed the filter,(Check the hole in the filter to allow the passage of air), and poured down onto the manifold. Fortunately the engine wasn't up to full operating temperature at the time. I've since bought a pair of 240 carbies so you can understand why I've been in the hunt for an air box.

Hey Rick yeah I don't know why they set it up this way seems all backwards and dangerous as you found out.

What have they done with the stock fuel rail set up did they toss it out?

Looks like you could use those air filters would they bolt up? That way at least you could get your 240z carbs on and remove that fuel filter from where it is.

Then you can hunt for a 240z airbox.

Also try advertising on ozdat.com under wanted items you never know your luck!

Hey Victor,

Take a closer look at the fuel filter mate. Notice the hole drilled into it ????

Richard,

Those carbies ARE getting the flick. I have a set of 240 carbies on manifold, ready to go on. Just waiting to get an air box.

Gavin,

Using those air filters was my first thought mate. No such luck.

Rick.
