I have removed the smog pump, and the hoses up to the tube that is connected to the exhaust manifold with 6 little hose bolts. Well i can't seem to find the right size wrench to use, I have tried both metric and regular, any ideas?? I was also wondering what size plugs I would need to plug these holes up. If you have any info, please let me know! THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!

In most cases I have seen, it's a real bitch to remove those tubes from the exhaust manifold. They generally strip or break because they've been in there since day one. When I did that years ago on my 510, I pulled the exhaust manifold, drilled out what was left of the tubes and welded the holes. What you're trying to do can be a real PITA. What do you expect to gain by removing the smog pump anyway? Especially with those DGV's? Talk about boat anchors! (Nobody else has said it up until now so I thought it was time). Weren't you talking about putting a V8 in it anyway. I'm out.

Boat anchor or not, i didnt' pay $^!# for the car.... $450.so i dont care! I took the smog pump off because it was froze so tight i couldn't even begin to turn it, and everyone I talked to said that they are good for nothing!! Thirdly I am going to put a V8 in it eventually, I am going to college right now taking 18 hours of classes, working 40 hours a week, and at the moment I just want to get the thing running good enought to enjoy with what little time and energy i have left, the beauty of the way it handles, drives and looks! I don't have alot of money to blow on it right now, by buying " non anchor " carbs! I'm out.
