Posted April 30, 200222 yr comment_6400 I just upgraded my 73 Z with dual points to a single point pertronix type electronic dizzy. One thing i need now is the coil. It runs good but the coil I feel makes the system complete. I have heard that the MSD blaster II coil would be a good one for my setup. Anyone have any input on a different one? Let me know what u have done and your thoughts. Thankssuntadz Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/1510-what-coil-to-get/ Share on other sites
April 30, 200222 yr comment_6427 Ive used them all.. it really doesnt make much difference between aftermarket hi-perf coils. There is a slight difference between stock and aftermarket though.. you'll notice it starts easier and runs a little smoother. Fuel mileage is supposed to go up, but hell if I can tell, damn lead foot! On the old Z's like that, I generally just use an Accel yellow coil. Ive never had any bad luck with them and they just work. Something about using American parts (Mallory-MSD) on a Japanese car too...hmmm blasphomy? I dunno... either way best of luck, let us know what you use and how you like it.
