Plus the actual mileage isn't on a Z odometer anyway with the absence of 100,000 digit Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15114-odometer/?&page=2#findComment-114293 Share on other sites
February 27, 200520 yr Author comment_114294 One could also say that leaving the speedo at 70K with the car looking like it just left the showroom (or better) is a testiment to the great the work that you've done to erase the effects of those miles and years. That's a good point Carl. I'm gonna think about this one. I can see where rolling back the odometer would be an issue on a car that had nothing else done. And the roll back was done in an attempt to increase it's sale value. But this is going to be on a car that is NOT for sale. The actual mileage is shown to the best ability of the equipment.Schevets: Why the penchant for initiating a lie? One could also "just say" the GWB has a brain. But saying it doesn't make it reality. February 27, 200520 yr comment_114313 Ed,Here is some more food for thought. If you painted your car a color that was not available when the car was produced, and installed a L28ET, would all of the work allow you to have a new reproduction paint sticker made with the new paint color, and a new data plate made with the new engine number? The same arguments for and against work, while I think it would be a "neat" thing to do, I don't think it would be the right thing to do. Someone would take it that the information held in the speedo, paint sticker, or data plate, as correct even if that was not the intention-but if that wasn't the intention, why bother? Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15114-odometer/?&page=2#findComment-114313 Share on other sites
February 27, 200520 yr comment_114315 I see your point Carl. It was not meant to be seen as a penchant for initiating a lie. For example if Ed rolled back his odometer and got caught, however slim the chances are, that could be a logical answer. Was said to help Ed make a decision, not just to out right lie. I am a person of morals, I do not lie unless it is completely necessary. One could also "just say" the GWB has a brain. But saying it doesn't make it reality. 'Nuff said.About GWB, nobody could tell me he has a brain without me laughing in their face - Just a joke I do not want to start political discussion on Ed's thread Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15114-odometer/?&page=2#findComment-114315 Share on other sites
