Are 2+2's Ugly Or Not??

Was'nt Australia a giant prison , where felons and common criminals were banished to, as punishment? Make mine good 'ol USA and you can have your Mad Max beyond Thunderdome. 2+2's all the way baby!!! 2+2s have that kink in the roofline which just spoils the whole appearance. The 2 seaters have a beautiful continuous curve from the top of the front windscreen al the way back to the trailing edge of the hatchlid. They are one of the few cars that look good from any angle.

FYI, Australia: same size as the USA (Western Australia bigger than Texas!), population 25million all on the coast: its still a prison to anyone without a fast car a and tank of fuel!

I like the 2+2 as much as the coupe. I had a 1974 260Z 2+2 that I regret letting a friend borrow on a saturday night while I was at work. Need I say more. Those two seats in the rear really come in handy and the stretch look grows on you. After I finish with my restoration on the 72 240Z, I will be in the market for a 2+2.

Personally I do not like the way a 2+2 looks.

A side note, have you noticed that the early Z's have a triangle rear window on the coupe and a rounded rear window on the 2+2 while the 280ZX had a rounded rear window on the coupe and a triangle rear window on the 2+2?

But seriously, not knocking anyone who has one. The Z has always been a symbol, at least in my mind. To make it into a 2+2 seems like a bit of a compromise; a jack of all trades excelling at none if you will. Now I am not saying they cannot perform, I have been smoked by more than one 2+2. To me, it just looks funny both inside and out.

The 280ZX 2+2 looks a little better but not much. After that I never cared for the 300ZX so I really won't comment on them. :sick:

IMHO the Z is a great 2-seater, nimble, fast and great looking. The 2+2 might be a good option for the die-hard Z lover that must have a back seat, however if I absolutly needed a back seat; I'd use my wife's car.

Yeah prison, good one. The Brits didn't think that throught to well did they. Lets send them to a beautiful tropical island with perfect weather and rich gold and mineral deposits as punishment, while we stay here in this soggy country.

Max max huh. Ford Falcon coupe 351 V8 with a blower and nitros. those were factory produced road cars (without the blower and nitros of course).

Alfa comes from Alfa Romeo, yes. Growing up both of my parents always had Alfas... now neither of them do but thats life eh?

I have to say that the 2+2 never really got me going. The early Z (classic body) posesses a style that was classic to it's era. Like the 250 GTO and E-Type it's just one of those cars that will define it's time. Todays cars just don't have the same spirit. I grew up in soggy old England and now live in sunny San Diego but still remeber the glorious summers (when we had them) at my grandfarthers farm. As for Ausie beeing in the US Navy i can tell you this, i have been there many times and they are some of the most considerate and friendly folks i have ever met on my travels. What's more they drink their beer by the pint, as it was ment to be. However England will always have the better cricket team haha j/k.
