Murph Posted March 2, 2005 Share #13 Posted March 2, 2005 Check out this 2+2 that's just been listed on eBay.http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2030&item=4532093252&rd=1Looks pretty damn neat. I'd guess it will end up selling for a pretty decent amount.
240 in OZ Posted March 2, 2005 Share #14 Posted March 2, 2005 The 2+2 in this auction has been listed in the Trading Post and on other for sale classifieds websites for several months now. Asking price there was $14k, assumed with the plates.Where is the antenna? Take a look at the hole, it has either been patched with primered metal or had duct tape put over it.Joseph
Gav240z Posted March 2, 2005 Share #15 Posted March 2, 2005 14k is too much for a 2+2 and although it's in good condition for 14K i'd want it to look alot better than this.
v12horse Posted March 3, 2005 Share #16 Posted March 3, 2005 Hey V12Yes, I have seen probably close to a dozen RHD 240z's here in Australia which came equiped with the Japanese domestic market bullet type fender mirrors as original/standard fitment. When it came to mirrors, we got a mixed lot here.RegardsJosephThanks for the information Josesh. 260DET Posted March 3, 2005 Share #17 Posted March 3, 2005 So, is there any opinion around as to the state of these cars? :devious: Like are they twisted, bogged up or otherwise open to adverse comment
g72s20 Posted March 3, 2005 Share #18 Posted March 3, 2005 As a bit of trivia... There is an ADR (Australian Design Rule) "14" relating to rearview mirrors. I believe these rules only came into effect in the early seventies, so that may explain why cars imported prior to (whatever the date of effect was!?) didn't have to comply. One of the sub clause' states the drivers side mirror must be able to be adjusted from the driving position. Those old enough might remember a lot of Japanese imports of the early '70s with a plastic plug of sorts on both front guards...right where a mirror would have been. Years ago I was told the mirrors could not be placed forward of the bottom edge of the windscreen as a pedestrian safety consideration...but there is NO ADR requirement to back this up. It may have been a seperate State rego requirement?.....Anyway this may help explain the "moving mirrors" Jim.
Gav240z Posted March 3, 2005 Share #19 Posted March 3, 2005 Well whoever buys that white 240z might be able to keep those mirrors there. I'm watching red Zed myself and might go inspect it.Anyone else see the $30,000 240z on Ebay in Australia?

Alfadog Posted March 3, 2005 Share #21 Posted March 3, 2005 I tried to find the ADR's online but apparently you have to pay $70.60 for the honour... They just can't help themselves can they?I would be very keen on knowing when the date was exactly...
The C110 Posted March 3, 2005 Share #22 Posted March 3, 2005 Not only 70's import japanese cars were subject to the ugly bung in place of a mirror. Just through observing mid to late eighties cressidas ive noticed they too employed this little fix-it...Probably other models were subjected..?
