Jesus guys...yes it was a joke...yes I got it from Myth Busters.

And some "jokes" aren't funny regardless of where they come from.

In the middle of a discussion that makes it obvious that I and others feel that safety is NOT something to "joke" about, you choose to debut your comedy routine.

Then you wonder why people reacted as they did.

To boot, you choose to open with an expression which some people would find sacrilegious.

If this is the kind of contribution you make, please don't contribute.

I enjoyed the humor of it... That is after I found out it was humorous and not meant to be taken seriously. I'm not worried about it though... The natural course of the joke led to why it's funny and why it shouldn't be done. Such is the flavor of life. Maybe we should double check before we do uncommonly suggested things but still keep our humor when blatantly rediculous comments are made. Heaven forbid we should become joke Nazis and make this forum dryer than a piece of wheat toast.

Thanks again for all the help to this point.

Lesson learned:

It is important to check your FUSES thoroughly. Looking is NOT enough; you need to test properly for continuity and voltage.

Thanks for the soundingboard to learn such things, ClassicZCars.com.

Ha, depending upon the poster here I'm not surprised at all any more :)

LOL ... Some of the advice is also questionable. :D FYI, I thought it was halarious. I had to take a double take on it at first. But, anyone dumb enough to do it deserves the pain afterward. Besides, a .22 wouldn't do that much damage anyway. You'd need to use a .45 to get a better effect.

PS: On your way to club baby seals... :bunny:

Now Mike, the post was starting to die down and you go rattle the cage? Now we'll never get the monkeys to settle down.

Geeeeeezzzzzz :finger:

  • 3 weeks later...

I bought my '71 in Salinas, California and drove it back to Salem, Oregon. I did not have brake lights or a license plate. I drove all the way back and did not get stopped. I cannot believe that I traveled that far without getting pulled over.

I have not fixed the problem so I am watching this thread with interest. I have totally disassembled the car, painted the shell and I am now putting it all back together. I will see if the brake lights work when I am finished. If not, I will try the same stuff that were recommended on this thread. Thanks in advance!
