Posted March 5, 200520 yr comment_115217 OK Guys I'm new to this forum. I tried searching and have not found what I'm looking for.I have a 1977 280Z 2+2 with a L28 EFI engine, Auto Trans car for Parts.I just got a 1973 240Z with the stock 240 engine and round top carbs. I wish to put this whole turbo setup into this car once I get all of it onto the L28.Parts I have to work with:I have a P-90 head.Turbo.wiring.turbo computer.Turbo intake and exhaust manifolds. I will know tomorrow what car these parts came off of but guess its a 280ZX Turbo.I want to take the L28 out of the 77 280 and put all the turbo gear on it.What will I need to do to this block to make it work other than add the P-90 to it? Thick head gasket? Lower compression forged pistons? I also read something about boost Ign timing retard issues when putting a turbo onto a N/A engine.I'm good with turbo system but have not worked with a Z car yet. Had a 91 Talon Tsi AWD & a 1997 Shelby Turbo GLHS that I got some great power out of and think the Z will be an even better platform once I learn how to get it all together.I look forward to sharing what I know about turbos and control systems with you guys when I run across a tread. I also will have some left over parts after this swap if you guys are in need. Thanks in advance, Nelson Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15196-which-parts-to-mix-and-match-to-make-this-work/ Share on other sites

I think I will put some forged pistons built for turbo use into the 280 block and boost it up.NelsonTurbo240 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15196-which-parts-to-mix-and-match-to-make-this-work/#findComment-115622 Share on other sites
