March 10, 200520 yr Author comment_115957 Saw that site, but its not the guy im after.........pretty sure hes in Australia,The first one had weird engine mounts that came off right at the front of the block and used the stock crossmember mounting points, looked as if it didnt use the stock Sr20 engine mounts, but custom ones that were heaps further forward along the block,The sump was almost on top of the front crossmember and looked to be a right-hand drive car,The one from sr240z.com cut off the original Z crossmember engine mounts and has welded supports on the chassis rail, this one is a left-hand drive car, Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15244-sr20-zed/#findComment-115957 Share on other sites
March 10, 200520 yr comment_115978 Wow i'd have though that would be kinda underpowered wouldn't it? Very interesting idea...Had a guy who was around the other night tell me i should put a triple rotor 20b in my zed, cause he said that's how they should have been..... DATSUN NOT MAZDA 260Z! Though once again an interesting prospect. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15244-sr20-zed/#findComment-115978 Share on other sites
March 10, 200520 yr comment_115981 Mick: Well coming from a 2.4/2.6L 6 cyl to a 2L 4 cyl, my initial thought is also that it's a bit small.... However, keep in mind that the zed is a few hundered kg lighter than the car the SR20 is coming from. March 10, 200520 yr comment_116005 Anyone see the videos at sr240z.com? See the 260z turbo hit the wall in the tunnel? ouch that's would have hurt . Kinda feel for the guy and can't imagine how i would feel if it were my baby . It's a good lesson not to get over excited going on a group cruise and only push yourself where your comftable. They went way too fast into the tunnel and obviously were unaware of what lay ahead. Be careful guys!
