Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself and send out a quick hello to everyone. I have just today gotten back into the wonderful life of Z ownership.

Little background. I owned my first and only other Z while stationed in Hawaii in the early 90s, a 74 260z. Unfortunately i decided to sell it prior to leaving the island, opting out of the shipping offered through the military. :stupid:

So I quit thinking about Z's for sometime until the 350z came out. I seriously considered buying one and while doing research online I came across this site and started looking at S30s and remembering the good times I had in my old Z. Well long story kinda short. I started looking but never really expecting to find a first generation Z close to home and in good shape. I was dead wrong. Through the local Z club here in Denver, Co. I found a wonderful car. here she is a Bronze (301) 75 280Z 59000 orig miles.

Welcome.

Yes, there seems to be a size limit of 1024x768. Try reducing them to that size and post again. Alternatively, you can upload photos to your personal gallery but there's a waiting period for those to get approved.

Well don't know how to resize but did put pictures in gallery waiting approval.

I tried to resize using ms paint but it just crops the picture down instead of resizing the image. I don't have any other type of photo editing software. Looks like a trip to BestBuy is in order.

You really don't need to buy any photo editing software. There's plenty of free stuff out there for manipulating images. Resizing is about the most basic thing you can do.

I just started using Picasa from Google and it's amazing. It's a tool that allows you to manage all of the images on your PC and includes ways of editing images, importing from cameras, exporting to web pages, etc. While it's not obvious, you can export pictures and resize them at that time.

Hey there Devildog,

G'Day Rob, welcome to the site.

Love the colour of your Zed mate. Looks a shade lighter than mine which has a gold pearl added as a top coat. In the shade she's plain bronze but put her in the sunlight and she SPARKLES.

Are you keeping your Zed as original as possible or do you plan any mods ?.

Rick.

Welcome, Rob. Sweet looking 260. And a 'late' 260 it is. What's you build date? In my research (looking at identification tags in the junkyards) I have found that even though 1974 was listed as the only year for the 260z here in the US, some of them were actually built late enough to be registered as a 75. I am one the apparently small group that doesn't mind the late, larger bumpers. I just feel that it fits the era and is part of what makes the later S30's...well, the later S30's. And they also define the final evolution of this great car that has brought us all together here.

I second that Stephen....he says its a 75 280z and the badges on the side of the rig confirm that.

The 74.5 260 and this version of the 280 look identical other than the badging and the displacement and FI.

Does the 75 280z have that fun 'interlock' safety feature, with the red light on the dash, and sensor in the seat? Just curious, cause when I had my 74.5 260 it had this annoying buzzer feature.

I have lots of parts for my 74.5 by the way (it was wrecked about 10 years ago) if anyone is interested. It was carbureted however.
