Posted March 17, 200520 yr comment_117222 I have some Dupli-Color 500 degree engine paint. Reading the label, it doesn't say anything about primer. Their web site doesn't mention primer on engines either. What would you suggest? Is this stuff supposed to go directly on the bare metal? March 17, 200520 yr comment_117232 If it doesn't specify a primer I'd just paint it. That's what I've done with my engine painting. (I don't remember the paint brands I've used) Just make sure your block is free of grease/oil and is clean and dry before you start. Good luck...KCDC Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15340-primer-before-engine-paint/#findComment-117234 Share on other sites
