Bambikiller240 Posted March 21, 2005 Share #37 Posted March 21, 2005 ..........The fact that it is copyright your website does protect in some fashion against someone making a buck off of the picture,............I'll add the following to the statement:But only if someone is willing to put up the money to pursue the issue in a court of law. If there isn't a budget for copyright enforcement, it's just words on a screen.
dogma420 Posted March 21, 2005 Share #38 Posted March 21, 2005 Very true assumption, Carl.
Mike Posted March 21, 2005 Share #39 Posted March 21, 2005 I find it amusing that after a lot of thread, the fact that the delete option is buggy is brought up...bring that up first thing, and I would have understood. This is a good point. Actually, this is kind of an embarassing subject to me because I felt like the club security was violated after a (supposedly deceased) member logged in and deleted all of the photos he took for us. Immediately after that incident, I locked down the forums and revoked all moderators. Since then, I haven't had time to dig in and determine the cause of the issue. I've been working on getting a lot of the images back from our backups so I can re-upload them. The delete option wasn't a big deal to me since then because nobody (except a few) really cared. The delete button (and other controls for that matter) are a convenience item I figured nobody really deemed overly important.

If there isn't a budget for copyright enforcement, it's just words on a screen.Right-O! But, the words can play a very important role if the lawsuit situation arises. The only other things we can do to protect our members is make it more difficult to pirate (or leech for that matter) photos from our site. Because when it comes down to the point of the matter, I want to let our members know that we have a little 'extra' effort involved in protecting their images.
