sblake01 Posted March 22, 2005 Share #2 Posted March 22, 2005 From what I have figured out, at least in the U.S., a 75 260Z is the same as a late 74 260Z. It seems that Datsun didn't have the 280Z ready in late 74 when the model year change took place so they continued to produce the 260Z until the 280Z was ready. In other countries the 260Z was produced longer, I think until late 78 (79 model year) because they never got the 280Z. I seem to remember someone saying that that was the case in Australia. Gav240z Posted March 22, 2005 Share #3 Posted March 22, 2005 Yeah i think it was until 77 or 78 here. I can't recall seeing a 260z in Australia later than 77 here however.

1 Bravo 6 Posted April 13, 2005 Share #5 Posted April 13, 2005 Hey there Gavin, Just picked up this thread. As you know Gav, "Precious" is a 260Z Coupe, born in August '74. A mate has a '76 260Z and there seems to be a difference in the depth of the spare wheel well. The mate's car's is not as deep as mine. The most obvious difference is,..... his car is white. According to Just Cars Magazine, on the World Price Guide page for April '05, 240Z .........1970---74. 260Z .........1974---78. (no breakup between Coupe and 2+2). 280ZX .......1978---83. 300ZX .......1984---86. Rick. :devious: :devious: :devious:
