Low Compression 1/4 Mile Times FYI

Just a litte FYI for those running low compression engines that havent ran the 1/4mile and wondering how good it will do. At SEZ this weekend, i ran a best of 15.096 seconds at 94.2 mph. not to shabby! i finally posted it on Zcar.com, and everyone got mad and started bashing threads, and then blamed me for hacking gotz.com. wow. so i got banned, and now im here!

anywho, if anybody wonders what times they will get, here is my engine set up:

block bored over .020

fresh dished pistons balanced

race preped rods and crank

semi ported head

new valves with 5 angle valve job

60mm TB

AFPR

cold air intake

ZX distributor

6-2-1 headers

eurodampner

all new valve train

MSA stage 2 cam

new injectors

15.096 is not to shabby for a car running 8.4:1 compression! and i havent even tuned the car yet. runs REAL rich and needs valve adjust bad. not to mention an electric fan! :-)

I have been bashed there many times too. The same person started bashing every thread I posted. Then other people would get in on it. This particular person has a little following of people who seem to idolize him. I always thought you were well received over there. Sorry to hear about that but like Beandip said "YOU ARE WELCOME HERE , NO BASHING."

Which engine is that? The OEM spec is for 8.8:1 compression ( on the L28). Do you think your mods give more hp than the stock engine? Which car is that?

TomoHawk, there is also a spec on an N42 engine for 8.3:1, as well as the spec you posted.

anywho, your times make me feel way better about my dished pistons..heh heh.

im personally keeping mine in because im going to do the slow turbo method... gather the parts, and then drop em in! hahahaha. its good to see ya here though!

i was liked overthere till i posted my times at SEZ. no one could believe what i ran with my engine setup. then a guy named ghostkilla, who hates me, started all these threads and said i "hacked" gotz.com. then like 4 other people started bashing threads saying how my car sucked, and then it just blew up. i still HATE vince, the creator of the site. he wont answer my emails or anything. i do NOT deserved to be banned. but now im here! yes!

why did i choose dished?

cause when i rebuilt the engine, i knew SQUAT about theses cars. just overbored it .020 and installed fresh oversized pistons.

now i wonder what it would be like with flattops :-)

and my compression is 8.3:1 stock, but with the overbore it puts it at 8.4:1

plus my deck and head are shaved a little bit.

either way, it works, and it hauls good arse. just get some tires on that baby, and im sure youd be easily into the 14's, no prob. all i hafta say is, bad arse 2+2.

......ya know... why didnt TonyD get bashed for his 2+2?? or anyone but you? i never understood that.

isnt it funny, that tonyD runs a mid 15 with his stock 2+2 when noone else can even break into the 15's on a stock coupe. wierd huh. somethings not right. you know what it is? he said its a ZX motor, well a non turbo ZX motor had flatops in it, correct? hmmm...something tells me tonyD's little 2+2 wasnt stock.

oh well, hes a jerk.

and heck yeah i will be in the mid 14's!!!

yeah, im plannin to do a similar engine setup, but on the "no-budget" plan.

it will be fun and interesting to see what i can do with as little as possible (minus the prices for tires, and such..those are needed). id honestly be over happy with like a 14.6-14.8 on a daily driver/dirt road queen!

it wasn't. From the many posts he has made about it I have gathered that it had: K&N filter, 60mm AFM, 60mm TB, ported exhaust manifold, 2.5in exhaust, and drag radials. TonyD is a delusional fool. I think i'll spend some more time here. I can do without all the drama on Zcar.com.
