Grounding Kit with "stabilizer"

I know grounding kits have been covered before, but does this one with the "stabilizer" have any merit? I would think it is a sort of surge suppressor and it makes sense to me that it would be a benefit. But then again I'm not an eletrical/electronic guru.

I think his shipping price of $20 is a joke regardless of what his product will do, or not do. Due to his "packing profit into the deal" with the overpriced shipping, I wouldn't buy a beer from him.

You would be better off to send the money to support this club for the help you have received here, at least then you will have traded the money for something with real value, and not something with only a perception of value based on what you have already said you don't know!

Make your own grounding wires out of heavy gauge fine copper wire stock found at any car audio shop. Solder all lugs to eliminate corrosion. His stabilizer is probably nothing more than a noise reduction circuit (choke and capacitor) also found at the car audio store. Do you need this extra parts? Probably not unless you've got a ac whine in your stereo speakers (if you even have a radio installed). Head down to the store and see what they have. I use braided tinned copper to connect all of my major components (block, head, alternator and starter to chassis). You could due just as well by running 10 gauge wire from all components (including chassis/body) to the ground cable of the battery. The only mandate is a heavy ground cable for the starter.

Perhaps I should have elaborated more. I apoligize, let me do so now. I have a 75 280Z and was wondering if the ECU, being 30 years old, might need a little insurance from surges and errant voltages or currents in the electrical system. I am not looking at this product as some type of performance mod or a magical doohickymaabob. Only as a source of additional security from above stated problems (surges). Having said that, if there is some value to ensuring a good ground then I would make my own custom setup like ezzzzzz suggests and not send money out to a guy for some Nismo stickers and some wire. So the question as I should have originally posted, again sorry, is...Is a Poor ground a real threat to system or does the existing Datsun wiring harness do an adequate job of protecting it's parts?

There is no doubt that proper grounding is important, but IMO, if the connectors and grounds built into the system by Nissan are properly maintained (meaning they are kept clean and uncorroded, and secure), then this product is of minimal value.

I make it a point to not do business with eBay sellers who charge shipping costs that are easily double what they should be. I expect shipping fees to be reasonably close to the actual cost. Profit should be built into the price of the product. That's just the way I do business.

I agree with Carl. Your ECM is very durable and simple in it's design. It would take a major spike to cause any damage. As long as it is grounded you are ok.
