April 2, 200519 yr comment_119196 I have the shoulder belts out of a 73 if you need them. I also have a complete set of 3 point stock seat belts from a 74 (with retractable shoulder belts attached to the retractable lap belts). Just let me know. April 3, 200519 yr Author comment_119328 Hey, thanks Dr. Rich, I'm looking for the retractables that the retractable mounts in the floor behind the seats.Let me know if that's how the 74s are...I was thinking those retracts mount by the rear window.... April 3, 200519 yr comment_119330 I just installed some retractable belts in my 72 z. You can not use a retractable lap belt out of any other z except maybe a 2+2. The floor well is to small for 260/280 lap belts. The way to do it is get a set of 280 belts and drill out the rivet that connects the shoulder belt to the clip. Then you have a 72 lap belt with a 280 retractable shoulder harness. Bolt them together with a grade 8 bolt and you are good to go. April 3, 200519 yr Author comment_119331 i was under the impression that the '3 point retractables' out of 73 are a direct bolt in, with no mods...that's what I'm looking for. I'll just keep the non retrac 72 laps until I find the 73s. No mods required. I'm not sure if 1974 belts would fit the pocket. April 4, 200519 yr comment_119395 That's why I am willing to sell them, as they won't fit in my '73 pockets. They do require bigger pockets, so that's why I didn't use them. I have come to grips with fact that I can't use 3 point retracts without a great deal of work... ~Dr. Rich Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15439-need-73-3point-seat-belts-for-my-72-w-lap-belts/#findComment-119395 Share on other sites
