Driver tail light lense availability?

Okay, gotta break down and ask...

Can't seem to find a source for a rear tailight lenses (240Z) anywhere. I've seen the "euro" versions (steep price IMHO) but I would actually prefer the US spec lenses (all red). It's becoming clear to me that no one has them new, but I cant seem to find a source for used or remanufactured either. Been keeping my eyes peeled on EBay with no luck. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming that your looking for some for your 73. E-bay is the only place I've seen them lately. There are some Euro lights on e-bay right now that haven't gotten too out of hand. Also try calling Too Intense Restoration they might have some.

Yes, the '73. The "Euro" lights are easy enough to find, but I would really prefer the US lenses. My '73 is red and the all red lenses look much "cleaner" IMHO. I haven't been boneyard shopping for one yet, but old Zed's are rare enough around here, I dont think I'll have much locally.

It's really quite the opposite! The US spec lights are available from Too Intense, MSA, VB (I think), and possibly at your local Nissan dealer. If used if good enough (new are still kinda pricey but not as bad as the Euro ones) then search eBay, they are on there ALL the time!! You may also try the classifieds on this site, hybridz, zdriver and zcar.com for used ones. They are really very easy to locate, especailly used.

i have a perfect passenger side one, and a drivers side that has the red outer part cracked (in other words would work well if you need a perfect backing that the lights click into)...pm me if interested. Came off of a 73 240 as well.

Supposedly, for about $200 a pair, the bare lenses(NO TRIM) can be reproduced in new materials, the lenses are not garanteed to be the same shade of red as the originals, but they are garanteed to match each other. I never have gotten a response about actually sending them a set to be reproduced.

Unfortunately it's the pass. side and you need the driver's side. I'm shocked that I didn't find more, it seems like they are always available...typically in pairs but still available.

Looks like you're right about VB, I just checked their latest catalog and the part you need is not available through them. The gold colored MSA catalog shows them as possibly being available, you'll have to call to find out. I will warn you that new they will cost you. If you have a daily driver or about anything other than a show car you may be best going used.
