Going to try and get my Z out this weekend

After having my first two Z's rust into piles of oxide by driving them year-round (they were my only cars in my high school/college years), I just can't do that to my current 280Z. Since it was a california car, and has little rust, I just have to keep it that way - even it means suffering through a few months per year with no Z to drive!

Guess it depends on how long you want the car to last. Drive it when it comes in contact with snow, ice, and de-icer salts and it won't be too many years before you'll be either spending BIG BUCKS to repair the chassis or driving it like Fred Flintstone (if you're lucky).

Exactly Bambikiller240. It's no fun when I have to park my Z for the LONG winter months but I do it for My Z's own good. NO WAY IN HELL would I ever subject my beautiful spotless Z to the salt belt.

Sorry to hear that Dan. Thats a bummer. I'm so glad that we are done with that crap here in St. Paul, MN. and that we got that nice spring rain to wash all the roadways so I could take her out this weekend. Hang in there man :) can't be too much longer.

Sunday I serviced my transmission. Droped out the old redline and put fresh new MT-90 Redline back in her. Man my Z's Transmission loves that stuff :D I highly recommend it.

Well, this thread is sort of old, but I got the orange car out today. I had a big scare by accidentally hooking up the new battery to the wrong terminals. I was scarred as hell when I saw tons of white smoke coming up from the starter. I feel really dumb about it, but I guess we sometimes learn the hard way. Anyway the car started just fine after I fixed the battery. The #six cylinder would not fire, so I put in a new plug after checking everything else. The car runs AWESOME!!! I am feeling great :) There were some troubles last year with what seemed like fuel starvation issues, but now she is running like a charm!

Hope others are equally as successful.

YIKES. That'll teach ya. :) Glade to hear that you were able to get everything straightened out and got to take her out on the road.

I'm fussy when it comes to my Z. I go over everything after I break her out of storage. :) I serviced my transmission last weekend because that was due so I got that checked off. I still have some basic routine stuff I want to do yet. Never a shortage of things to do. :)

Anyways good to hear you were able to get her back out. Enjoy :)
