Can i do this? I heard most cars from the 70s + can run on this stuff without problems, but i wanted to be sure before i do it. Right now its about $.10 cheaper than normal gas so i thought i might try and save some $$ by using it. I didn't see anything in the manual about it.

I don't think you will have any trouble. I have been running it in my "73 with no ill effects. You might have to retard the timing some if it pings. No more than 10% though

In CA, (since the EPA finally banned MTBE) all the gas stations that I've bought from have stickers on the pumps indicating that they are using 10% ethanol.

Here we don't have any choice of percentages, you buy what they sell and it seems to all be the same 10% blend.

I have experience with this blend. Spokane has required use of the 10 % blend for years to meet emmissions standards in the winter only. I can attest to the fact this blend will reduce your mileage, sometimes dramaticaly.

I keep accurate records of all my vehicle's mileage. With four, six and eight cylinder engines the blend results in 15-20 percent less mileage consistently. I suppose if you get a price break on this stuff that would be an ok deal. But it seems to defeat the purpose if the idea is to reduce emmissions, if you are actually using more fuel!

Oregon used to be 10% Ethanol only in the winter months, it seems to be all the time now...I try and used Premium because the gas always has the ethanol in it.

I would go for it...although the trade off is about the same...ie. 10 cents less, but should go with Premium with the ethanol, which is the probably the price you started out with.

Surprising, gas with 10% ethanol should be more you would think since it would cost more...weird how this stuff works.

I could be wrong about the all the time....but the stations where I get gas either have it all the time or are lazy and don't take off the stickers--they don't say its ethanol during nov. to feb. anymore either.
